new addictions

New addictions: CocoVia blueberry almond dark chocolate bars, smoked chicken, gouda and granny smith apple sandwiches at Neopol, baked Lays potato chips, tonic water and pomegranate juice with a squeeze of lime, watching the foxes in the back yard, blogging, reading really bad vampire novels, shuffle play on my iPod, and Comcast on Demand.

I really didn't need a whole list of new bad habits, since I already had a slew of old bad habits. I keep hoping I'll get addicted to: saving money, working overtime, exercise, sprouts, skim milk, 4 hours of sleep a night. But it never happens.

Don't fret. Some of your new adictions aren't so bad. And, some of the ones you wish you'd pick up would actually BE bad (overtime) 4 hours of sleep may sound appealing, but sleep is a great rejuvenator and often the fertile soil of creation. While it might be possible to get enough "rest" in 4 hours of sleep, your brain wouldn't get all of its obligatory playtime, I'm certain of it. All wake and no play makes brain a dull toy. (grin)

It would just be so much easier if my addictions matched my needs.

Maybe they already do, and you're just not aware of your real needs ...

And I'll take a CocoaVia bar over working overtime and sleeping 4 hours a night any old time.

Take a good book and read it, watch a movie and forget. And a good book to read?

Grab a copy of "Think And Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill (If you have read it read it again ;-) )
